The security monitoring system is highly susceptible to lightning strikes due to the installation of many monitoring devices outdoors. For this purpose, lightning protection devices need to be installed at the front-end monitoring points. The equipment in the monitoring center room is mostly precision computers and mainframe devices. Once struck by lightning, the consequences can be unimaginable. Therefore, the monitoring room also needs to strengthen lightning protection design.

Due to many surveillance cameras being installed outdoors, they are susceptible to lightning strikes. Therefore, lightning protection for front-end cameras is particularly important. Firstly, install a series low-voltage power lightning arrester or a 220V centralized power supply lightning arrester at the power source. Secondly, install video lightning arresters with corresponding interfaces on the video signal line. Simultaneously equipped with a pan tilt camera, install a control circuit lightning arrester. An lightning rod that can protect the camera should also be installed on the top of the outdoor camera support pole, and a corresponding grounding network should be established (the grounding resistance should be less than 10 ohms, preferably less than 4 ohms)
